Sewers Unite - Makinging Masks!
To all our sewers! We are sure you have seen the many social media and news announcements where sewers are uniting and making masks for our health care workers, first responders and others out serving us during this time.
In case you are still in search of patterns and info, here are a few links we like. Each a little different in filtration and complexity.
Click on the links to each video and instructions for the masks. We hope this service activity will help bring peace to your upcoming stay at home days. Work through your fear and anxiety serving others is the best solution to peace.
NOTE: We have heard that some of the health care workers like masks that tie rather than elastic, because often they have another helping them put on or take off their masks. Depending on the type of situation, will depend on the type of mask needed. So don't stress on which one, just get to making what you can. Any type and/or any amount will be appreciated.
Also pre-wash your fabrics, and remember don't make them if you are sick.
Patterns and more info for each of these
are found when you click on the corresponding links.
The below (on right) is Lisa and her test masks. She made these from Craft Passion at https://www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/ and Deaconess Health https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Hon3XuHKv0
The two styles Lisa made... The blue one from craft passion has a pouch for filter replacement and she definitely likes the fit and feel of the blue one better.
